Zoning permits are required for all new construction whether it's a new residential or commericial structure, an addition to an existing structure, an outside storage building, or an attached deck--to name a few. Permits will also be required for signs, installation of swimming pools (above or below ground) and for change of use in an existing structure. These are a few examples when a permit is required. Should you have any questions, or require additional information you may contact the Zoning Administrator. The planning and zoning office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 12:00 pm.
The Town of Landis does not issue building permits, this is handled by Rowan County, however a zoning permit with the town must be obtained in order to receive a building permit.
Application for a zoning permit may be made inside the planning and zoning office at Landis Town Hall. To expedite applications, it is recommended that all applicants contact Town Hall at (704) 857-2411 during the planning and zoning office hours as listed above to ensure a Zoning Administrator is available.
Please fill out the Zoning Application below and bring it, as well as all necessary documentation, to Town Hall. You may also pick up zoning applications at Town Hall during regular business hours which are generally Monday through Firday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
