The Landis Police Department provides 24/7 police protection the citizens of Landis 365 days per year. To provide you with the best service possible, please call 911 to report a crime or if you need an officer to respond to your location.
Although we always have officers on-duty, our facility is not routinely staffed nor open to the public.

How Do I Get a Police Report?
Most accident reports can be obtained online, directly from NC DMV.

How Do I Get a Gun Permit?
In North Carolina, municipal police departments do not have the authority to issue permits to purchase firearms or carry them concealed. This responsibility is legally restricted to the Sheriff of the county in which you reside.

How Do I Register my Alarm?
The Town of Landis Alarm Ordinance requires all alarms, commercial and residential, which are monitored by an alarm company to be registered with the police department. When an alarm is registered you will receive a numbered permit from the police department. This permit must be displayed on or near the front entrance.
The fees for alarm permits are:
New Installations - $25.00 for first year
Systems installed prior to July 1,2008 - $5.00
Renewals - $5.00 per year
Permits expire at the end of the calendar year.
Please fill out the Property Information portion of the Alarm Registration Form and bring or mail it to the Landis Police Department along with the appropriate fee to obtain your permit.
How Do I Pay a Citation?
North Carolina Uniform Citations
Depending upon what you have been charged with, you may have the option to pay a citation before the scheduled court date in lieu of appearing in court. For a list of waivable offenses, fines, and court costs please refer to the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts.
Citations issued for waivable offenses may be paid online through the NC AOC's ePay site PayNCTicket.org.

Town of Landis Ordinance Citations
Town ordinance citations, such as noise ordinance and alarm ordinance violations, must be paid at the Landis Town Hall within the time specified on the face of the citation. If paid promptly, ordinance citations will not appear on your criminal record, drivers license history, or affect your insurance.
If ordinance citations are not paid in the time allotted, a criminal summons may be issued against the defendant. A summons will require the defendant to appear in Rowan County District Court. Once a criminal summons is issued, the charge will appear in your criminal record with the NC Administrative Office of the Courts and may appear on your drivers license and/or insurance depending upon the offense for which you were cited. Upon conviction, the defendant may also be responsible for the payment of all applicable court costs.
