TOWN INFORMATION RELEASE (Dated 03/25/2020):
In consideration of rapidly changing events relating to the COVID-19 virus and our desire to continue to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and residents of our community effective at 5:00 PM today, Wednesday, March 25, 2020, the following actions will take place:
Municipal Services – All municipal services will continue to be maintained 24/7 unless specified otherwise below.
Town Hall – Until further notice, town staff will continue to work from town hall during normal business hours, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Staff will be available by telephone or email to assist citizens as necessary. Utility payments will be accepted in the drop box, by mail or by telephone. The lobby will be closed to the public.
Utility disconnections have been suspended until further notice. Likewise, late fees will not apply so long as the bill is paid by the next billing cycle.
Activities requiring interaction with town staff, such as starting new utilities, zoning, matters, etc. will require an appointment to be made in advance. Citizens may call Town Hall at 704-857-2411 during normal business hours to schedule such appointments.
Lake Corriher Wilderness Park – In order to make available much needed, quality outdoor recreational opportunities the park will remain open with full services available until further notice. Customers will need to adhere to COVID-19 recommended basic protective measures in order to ensure the park continues to stay open.

POLICE INFORMATION RELEASE (Dated 03/22/2020):
The Landis Police Department would like to make you aware that you may encounter changes to the way we normally operate and interact with the public. The goals of these changes is to maintain the well-being of our residents as well as the health of our officers so we can continue to provide efficient and effective law enforcement services. We ask for the public's patience, help and understanding as we implement the following temporary procedures:
Filing a police report or needing to speak with an officer:
First and foremost, the Landis Police Department will continue to handle emergency responses as we always have. Please continue to call 911 for emergencies or (704)-216-8500 for non-emergences. Both of these numbers go to our communications center. A tele-communicator will take your information and dispatch an officer for you. Depending on the circumstances, an officer will either call you, respond to your location or both.
The Police Department lobby will be closed to walk-ins until further notice. If there is an emergency and you arrive at our office with no means to call 911, please use the phone located in the red “emergency” box on the side of the building.
Most accident reports are available online at https://landis.ecrash.interplat.com/ approximately one (1) week after the accident. If you cannot locate your accident report online, you can call (704)-857-2129 Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. to request a report to have one emailed or mailed to you. Incident reports can be emailed or mailed. Please call (704)-857-2129 Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or you can send an email to email@example.com to obtain a report.
Fingerprinting, golf cart registrations and alarm registrations are currently suspended unless it is an emergency situation. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (704)-857-2129 for questions.
